The Newberry Sex Offender Registration Division performs several duties involving registered Sex Offenders and Sexual Predators living and working in Newberry County including those individuals located within the municipals as well as the rural areas of the county. People who are convicted of certain crimes are required to register with the Sheriff's Office of the county in which they reside or are employed. The division ensures that any known Sex Offender that lives or works in the county registers with the Sheriff's Office within the allotted time frame required by South Carolina Law.
